Braxton Hicks and updates

I’m eventually going to admit I’m a terrible blogger. When we first talked about having a baby, I had all these big plans of doing a daily video diary for the baby. Then I was going to write letters, then it turnes into this blog and well…. you know what they say about good intentions.

Tomorrow marks 26 weeks!! That means today is 99 days until my due date. Less than 100 days and I’ll have a little baby of my own. It feels surreal.  It’s going by way to fast for my liking. I know not everyone has easy pregnancies so I consider myself lucky and grateful every single day that my body is managing to do SOMETHING right.

I’m carrying high and now I can feel kicks right below my ribs on the right side daily. Nugget has a few really active spurts throughout the day. First thing in the morning when dad comes home and starts talking, then around 130pm and again after dinner. Tacos made for an interesting dance party last night.

I’ve still been eating about every 2-3 houra to keep the heartburn to a minimum. Cereal and potatoes are always on the menu.

We spent a week in FL with MiMi (my MIL) and I got to get a little tan going on. I wore my bikini to the beach and the pool. I figured if a 60 yr old man can wear a speedo with no shame, who’s judging me!

The one thing that I didn’t like in Fl was the way my feet swelled up every night! N did a great job of reminding me to hydrate and rubbing them when we got back.

The house is almost finished inside. A complete overhaul during pregnancy is not advised but luckily we have some really great people in our family that are handy AND helpful.  In about 2 weeks, we’ll have a finished basement,  a nursery ready to decorate and an entire interior that’s freshly painted with new carpet. I’ll need to enlist my sister to decorate,  I’m awful at it.

N’s diaper party is this weekend and my shower is next weekend. I can’t wait to get everything organized and start shopping!!

Today I felt my very first Braxton hicks contraction.  It was weird and made me have to pee but wasn’t painful at all. Just made my whole stomach go hard and tighr for a minute!

So there’s the long update no one has been dying to hear 🙂

Today Nugget wants: cocoa pebbles (we finished a whole box already… we bought on Saturday)
